Carol Simon Rosenblatt is a New York City based artist who works with a broad range of media and materials. Her career began as a painter in the late 1960’s, when she studied with Gandy Brodie, a renowned painter who had a significant influence on her work. In the late 1980’s, Rosenblatt attended Rhode Island School of Design and began to work in photography. During this period, she created a body of experimental photographs in which she combines found objects with the photo prints, assembles them into a collage, and then re‑photographs it into a final image. In recent years, she has turned to ceramics and glass, utilizing them as a canvas to paint and as a container to encase abstract imagery.
